Born on Aug. 19, 1932, in Dunmore, Frances was the youngest of seven chil- dren born toMichael Alfieri, an emigre from Serracaprio- la, Province of Foggia, Apu- lia, Italy, and Elizabeth Rus- soniello from Dunmore, Pa.

Frances (knownas to her siblings) graduated from Dunmore High School in 1950 and later moved to Washington D.C., where she workedatBondsDepartment Store as a bookkeeper, and met her husband, Walton Egelanian of 65 years. Frances and Walton mar- ried on Dec. 18, 1954, and together raised four children in College Park, Md. Frances was a devout Catholic and was an active volunteer first at Holy Redeemer Church and DeMatha High School in Maryland, and later at St. Church and St.

Peter andPaulParish and theSoci- ety of St. Vincent de Paul in After being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (an often-fatal blood cancer) in 1990, she became part of a clinical trial endowed by the Walton Family (Walmart) at UAMS in Little Rock, where she not only survived the disease, but remained until recently in the program that produced much of the groundbreaking research that today saves and extends the lives of many Multiple Myelomapatients. 28 at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Peter J. Vitaletti, who died Aug. 27, 1990. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna Pronitis Oleshefski.

She was a gradu- ate of West Scranton High School and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church inPeckville. Connie was a hard work- er. Whether it was in her home or at her family business, National Bakery, she took great pride in her work. She always kept everything Connie was a natural caretaker. Her entire life was spent caring for others including several family members, those who were considered family, and also her husband, all until their final days.

She was truly an angel on earth tomany. Connie absolutely loved shopping and would be gone for hours with her sisters looking for their next bar- gain. She loved to travel and took many trips with family and friends. She always looked forward to visits with her brother. Connie was a connoisseur of all jewelry and loved finding her next treasure.

She loved to try her luck at the lottery leaving no ticket unscratched. Every Saturday night was reserved for Pennsylvania Polka and every morning was coffee club with her neighbors. Conniewas THEBEST cook. Even though she was of proud Lithuanian heritage, she cooked many Italian dishes with perfection. She was famous for her many recipes, especially her sauce, cheesebread and pizzelles.

She was the with the and loved hold- ing parties in her home for family and friends. Connie. The matriarch. The Contessa. Connie V.

Of all these titles, hermost cher- ished were mom, Grandma Connie and great-grandma. Her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. She lived each day for her family and had an unbreakable bond with her two grandchildren and twogreat-grandchildren. Conniewill bemissed by all. Connie is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Long Sr.

(whom she considered her son), Peckville; her grandchil- dren, Marisa Blank and hus- band, Bill, with whom she resided; and Dale Peck- ville; her great-grandchil- dren, Sophia and Dominic Blank; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neigh- bors. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Delores Jen- nings and JoanKrupski; and a brother, TomOleshefski. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Constance J. Wittenbrader, 92, of Lake Ariel, went home to be with the Lord on Sun- day, Oct. 31, 2021. Shewas the widow of Robert E. Witten- brader, who passed away on Nov. 19, 2014, and the couple was married for 65 years at Roberts passing.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Louise (Kellum) Voltz. Harriet graduated from Scranton Technical High School and for a short time, worked at the Elks Club as a secretary. As a hard worker, Har rie worked alongside her hus- band in all the family endeavors. A bookkeeper for their business, R.E. Witten- brader Trucking, coal sales, dairy cows, collecting and delivering eggs, sweet corn in the summer, and spend- ing many late nights taking care of the needs of her family.

Harriet was a fantas- tic cook, preparing three meals every day from scratch and opening up the doors of her home to their employees to have lunch together. Sunday family din- ners were a staple in Harri- house and thememories created will never be forgot- ten. As a lifelong member of the Hollisterville Bible Church, Harriet played the piano and organ, as well as serving as the trea- surer and secretary. She shared her love of playing the organ often at family weddings. Harriet is survived by her children, Bob Witten- brader Jr.

and his wife, Beth, of Lake Ariel; Louise Hughes, of Dallas; and Jeff Wittenbrader and his wife, Tammy, of Lake Ariel; her brother, Richard Voltz, of Quakertown; her grand- children, JasonWittenbrad- er and his wife, Martha; Ryan Wittenbrader; Justin Wittenbrader and his wife, Carrie; Rebecca Hughes and husband, Jonathan; Lindsey Hughes Berk and her husband, Alex; Allyson Wittenbrader Katz and her husband, Nathan; Meghan Wittenbrader and Branden Wittenbrader; her great- grandchildren, Hanna, Merle and Oliver.
